KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) — The national sepak takraw squad lost 0-2 to their archrivals Thailand in their 2025 Sepak Takraw Asian Cup second Group B doubles match at Titiwangsa Stadium here tonight.

Muhammad Noraizat Mohd Nordin and Aidil Aiman Azwawi struggled to break the dominance of Thai duo Boonkoom Tipwong dan Sirisak Anuloon, losing 10-15, 17-15.

The result means that Malaysia will have a tough time qualifying for the semi finals as they need to win against Taiwan in the final group match tomorrow.

Group B leaders Thailand will take on Nepal tomorrow.

“No matter what, we need to beat Taiwan tomorrow. For me, the chance for us to advance is still open,” national doubles coach Aswadi Abdullah said when met.
