Villaraya Industrial Park, Semenyih – The evening sky at Villaraya Industrial Park seems to mourn as it witnesses two young local children sitting by the roadside, selling food to make a living. Their faces, filled with hope yet overshadowed by hardship, evoke sympathy from anyone who passes by.
As the Chief Editor, I would like to express my gratitude to the enforcement authorities of the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) for showing compassion by not disturbing or relocating them to another area. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, there is still a glimmer of humanity that lightens the burden of the common people.
However, the question remains – until when? Until when will our country continue to be shadowed by such stories? Where did things go wrong? Is this the failure of the people or the weakness of those who govern the country all this time?
A country once known as the “Asian Tiger” is now facing growing economic challenges and an increasing national debt. Ironically, while leaders talk about progress and development, there are still young children who bear the responsibility of earning a living, a duty that should have been their time to learn and enjoy their childhood.
Will we continue to point fingers, or is it time for us to rise together and rebuild this country? Justice is not just rhetoric in speeches; it needs to be translated into real action.
To these two siblings – may the light of hope continue to shine for you. And to all of us – let us use their story as a mirror to reflect the reality of the nation. We have the power to change it if we truly want to.
