KOTA KINABALU – The Deputy Chief of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) Sabah, Aksyah Nasrah, has made a shocking announcement of his resignation from the party to support the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. The announcement was made in an official statement today, with Aksyah confirming that he would also relinquish all his positions in BERSATU with immediate effect.
“I have submitted my resignation letter to the Sabah BERSATU Chief, Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee, dated December 28, 2024. Copies of the letter have also been sent to the President, Deputy President, and Secretary-General of BERSATU,” he said.
Aksyah stated that the decision was made independently without influence from any party. He also expressed his full support for Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor and GRS in their efforts to uphold Sabah’s rights as enshrined in the State Constitution.
Support for GRS and Hajiji Noor
Aksyah commended Hajiji’s efforts in uniting the people of Sabah through a strong local political coalition. He urged Sabahans to continue backing the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan, which he believes will bring long-term benefits to the state and future generations.
“Unity among Sabahans is the key to the state’s progress. With the consolidation of local political parties, I am confident that Hajiji and GRS can propel Sabah to success across all sectors,” he said.
Aksyah also called on the people to give GRS a full mandate in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election (PRN) and pledged to support GRS’s campaign to ensure the advancement of their beloved state.
