TANGKAK, 30 December 2024, 3:07pm — Five people were injured after two Proton cars collided on Jalan Kebun Baru – Bukit Kepong, near here, last night. The accident occurred at approximately 9:37 PM, involving a Proton Persona and a Proton Saga.
According to a statement from the Operations Centre (PGO) of the Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the crash left the driver of the Proton Persona trapped inside the vehicle. A fire truck, along with 18 personnel led by Senior Fire Officer Two, Rahimi Rahmat, was immediately dispatched to the scene.
“Initial investigations revealed that five people were involved, including three women aged between 29 and 50 who were in the Proton Persona, all of whom sustained injuries. Another man in his 30s who was driving the Proton Saga was also injured,” the statement said.
Firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate the driver of the Proton Persona before handing him over to medical officers from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) for further treatment. All the victims were sent to a nearby hospital for medical care.
The police are still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
