Remanded for Seven Days Over Corruption Allegations

PUTRAJAYA: A man suspected of being involved in corruption at the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) during heavy vehicle inspections has been remanded for seven days starting today to assist in investigations.

The magistrate’s court here granted the remand order after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) presented the case this morning.

The suspect, in his 40s, is believed to have played a role in soliciting or accepting bribes to bypass inspection regulations for heavy vehicles.
