Kuala Lumpur, October 19 (Bernama) – National mixed doubles pair Wong Tien Ci-Lim Chiew Sien were upset by Japan’s Yuichi Shimogami-Sayaka Hobara in the semi-finals of the 2024 Malaysia Super 100 badminton tournament, losing 19-21, 14-21 in 45 minutes.
Performance Analysis
Speaking to reporters after the match, Tien Ci acknowledged that their performance had improved but lacked consistency.
"We were determined to win but lost confidence after making many mistakes. We were inconsistent and lacked mental strength," he said.
The pair gave themselves a score of 6 or 7 out of 10 for their performance in the tournament. They will next compete in Indonesia and Japan.
