PUCHONG: A man, MDGANOHAS AL MAPIIAPINAN, has filed a police report seeking justice for the death of his wife, Iinavii Relgina Av’ Anthony Arokie, which he claims was caused by a fraudulent ‘ayurveda’ treatment offered by an unlicensed company.
According to MDGANOHAS, in 2019, he and his late wife sought traditional and complementary treatment at Ayurveda Online Sdn. Bhd., located at Jalan Kenari 12, Bandar Puchong Jaya. The center allegedly claimed it could cure his wife’s kidney disease.
However, in 2021, after further medical checks at Klang Hospital, his wife was diagnosed with stage four kidney failure. The hospital staff inquired whether she had taken any medication other than hospital-prescribed drugs. MDGANOHAS admitted that his wife had been consuming medication provided by the ‘ayurveda’ center.
Regret and New Evidence Uncovered
In 2023, his wife passed away, and MDGANOHAS came across a viral video on TikTok exposing the illegal activities of Ayurveda Online Sdn. Bhd. The video revealed that the individual promoting the treatments under the name “Dato’ Seri Dr. Nagentaran” was not a licensed doctor. Furthermore, the company lacked authorization from the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) or any other relevant agencies.
MDGANOHAS also discovered that the suspect had opened multiple branches nationwide, including in Johor, Perak, and Penang, operating illegally. “I am heartbroken and disappointed to see so many people deceived by their false promises. They prey on the hopes of desperate patients,” he said.
Calls for Immediate Action
MDGANOHAS is now urging the police and relevant authorities to take swift action against the suspect and the company. He demands justice not only for his wife but also to protect others from falling victim to similar scams.
Serdang District Police Chief, ACP A A Anbalagan, confirmed that an investigation is underway under Section 3 of the Offenses Relating to Awards Act 2017, which carries a sentence of up to three years imprisonment if found guilty.
The public is advised to be cautious about unlicensed treatments and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately.
