DS Hamzah Zainudin Raises Concerns Over RM16.6 Billion Helicopter Lease, Time for the Government to Step Forward and Provide Clear Explanation. The People Deserve Transparency – Another Scandal Awaiting?

Must Read

KUALA LUMPUR: Another heated issue arises as Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin raises serious concerns over the leasing of 28 AW139 helicopters valued at a staggering RM16.6 billion. This could be a major scandal waiting to be exposed!

Hamzah questioned why Malaysia has to pay such an exorbitant price for leasing these helicopters, while countries like Poland are purchasing the same helicopters at a significantly lower cost. He also warned that this agreement could burden the nation’s finances in the future, potentially leading to a debt crisis.

The question that must be asked now is – why did the government sign such an expensive lease contract? Why lease when we could purchase the helicopters and create job opportunities by awarding maintenance contracts to local companies? Is this yet another case of abuse of power that could rival the LCS scandal?

Hamzah, who previously served as the Minister of Home Affairs, revealed that the same company had submitted a similar proposal during his tenure. However, after a thorough review, the government at that time decided to reject it. Why is it now being pursued?

We urge the people to open their eyes and see what is happening. We are talking about a huge financial commitment that could burden the nation in the long term. Is this really in the best interest of the people?

It is time for the government to step forward and provide a clear explanation. The people deserve transparency – and we cannot afford to face another scandal that tarnishes the nation’s future.
