SERDANG, 7 FEBRUARY 2025 – The ongoing trash problem on Jalan Karunmas 10, Taman Desa Karunmas, Seri Kembangan, Selangor, has persisted for a long time, and local residents are calling for immediate action from the Seri Kembangan Assemblywoman, Y.B. Puan Wong Siew Ki, as well as the area’s councilor. Despite numerous complaints made to the village head and the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKJ), the trash issue has yet to receive the proper attention.
Residents of the area have reported that the available trash bins are insufficient. When the bins are full, the trash is placed along the roadside and spills into nearby drains, creating an unsanitary, smelly, and unpleasant environment. Furthermore, with the rainy season, the piled-up trash becomes slippery and spreads onto the road, causing an unbearable odor.
According to the residents, the location is not suitable for waste disposal. They hope the authorities will relocate the disposal area to a more appropriate place and build a more strategic waste collection point.
“We hope that the Assemblywoman and the elected councilor will give serious attention to this issue and ensure that immediate action is taken to maintain the cleanliness of our area. We also request better monitoring by the councilor in this area,” said a local resident.
Through this complaint, the residents hope that immediate steps will be taken to resolve the worsening trash problem in the area.
