Netizens Advise Caution on Releasing Pythons into Drains in Putra Heights

Must Read

As the case of pythons being released into a drain along Jalan Persiaran Putra in Putra Heights gains attention, netizens are voicing their concerns and offering advice on how to handle such situations responsibly.

Following a police report filed on February 3, which was based on a viral video showing three men releasing pythons into a drain, many online users have expressed their worry for the safety of residents in the area. The incident, which occurred in mid-January, has raised questions about the dangers of releasing exotic animals into public spaces.

One concerned netizen wrote: “Releasing pythons into drains can create unnecessary risks for people living nearby. These animals are not native to urban environments and could cause harm to residents, especially children, or even pets. It’s important to consider the consequences before taking such actions.”

Others have pointed out that such actions may violate wildlife protection laws. “Releasing animals into the wild without proper care or consideration is not only dangerous but illegal. Authorities should be informed so they can handle the situation professionally and humanely,” another user commented.

In response to the incident, netizens have called on the public to be more responsible when handling wildlife and to report any similar activities to the relevant authorities. “Please do not take matters into your own hands when it comes to wildlife. Always reach out to the wildlife and parks department (Perhilitan) for guidance and support,” one person advised.

The case has now been referred to Perhilitan for further investigation, and authorities have emphasized the importance of protecting both residents and wildlife from harm. As this case unfolds, experts urge the public to remain vigilant and avoid taking actions that could jeopardize public safety or the well-being of animals.

In the meantime, local residents have been advised to remain cautious in the area and report any unusual sightings of wildlife to the authorities immediately.
