Seizure of RM38.9 Million Worth of Drugs

On March 13, police in Negeri Sembilan conducted a series of raids on warehouses and illegal laboratories, resulting in the seizure of 274.14 kilogrammes (kg) of drugs valued at RM38.9 million. The operation, which took place across four locations, aimed to disrupt a major drug pipeline supplying the Klang Valley and southern regions.

Seized Drugs

The confiscated drugs included 335.5 grammes (g) of ketamine, 2 kg of heroin, 12 kg of methamphetamine, 8 kg of ecstasy powder, 125,258 ecstasy pills, 39,242 Eramin 5 pills, and 15 kg of cannabis, which could cater to 442,548 drug users.

Confiscated Items

In addition to the seized drugs, police also confiscated a vehicle, cash, and jewelry worth a combined total of RM253,413 under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988.

Operation Details

The operation was the result of information and intelligence gathered over the past three months at separate locations involving the light industrial area of ​​Jalan Tun Dr Ismail Seremban and three houses used as homestays around Taman Sri Rahang, Taman Bidara, and Taman Bukit Kaya.

Arrest and Interrogation

A 52-year-old local man was arrested during the raid in the light industrial area, and his interrogation led to the discovery of three homestays used for drug storage. The suspect, believed to be a caretaker for the syndicate and a sentinel, was remanded for seven days from March 14-20 under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Raid Details

The raids resulted in the following:

  • A house in Taman Sri Rahang, which yielded various drugs worth RM38,670,280
  • A house in Taman Bidara, which seized a pill press (tableting) machine
  • A house in Taman Bukit Kaya, which found 96 plastic barrels containing powdered and liquid chemicals for processing drugs and six sacks of chemical powders

Syndicate’s Operations

The syndicate, which started its operations a year ago, aimed to supply the Klang Valley and southern regions with drugs. While the police have disrupted the syndicate’s operations, there is a possibility of more arrests in the future.
