Kuala Lumpur, March 19 – The Malaysia Passport Issuance Office in Putrajaya continues to receive a high number of visitors daily. While counter operations run smoothly with efficient Immigration officers, there are still areas that need improvement to enhance the comfort of applicants, particularly the elderly and disabled individuals.
One of the main challenges faced by applicants is long waiting times and insufficient seating, forcing many to stand for extended periods. This is especially difficult for senior citizens and disabled individuals who may have physical limitations.
To address this issue, an app-based queue system has been introduced, allowing applicants to register in advance before visiting the Immigration office. While this is a positive step, there is still room for improvement to ensure the system is more efficient and user-friendly.
An applicant, Mr. Ahmad, who accompanied his elderly mother, highlighted the need for more seating and a more comfortable waiting area to ease the burden on vulnerable groups.
> “The passport issuance process at the counter is fast, and the Immigration officers are very professional. However, many elderly people have to stand for long periods. If more seating were available or if the queue system were improved, it would be much more convenient,” he said.
A survey conducted by Ottrangknews found that most counters in Putrajaya operate efficiently, with Immigration officers demonstrating high professionalism in assisting applicants. They not only ensure a smooth process but also treat visitors with courtesy and respect.
Therefore, it is hoped that the authorities will upgrade physical facilities and enhance the queue management system to ensure all applicants, especially vulnerable groups, receive a more comfortable and efficient service.
