Ramanan Announces Candidacy for PKR Vice President, Ottrangknews Predicts Victory, Nurul Izzah Steps Aside for the Party

Must Read

Kuala Lumpur, March 24, 2025 – PKR Deputy Chief Information Officer 1, R Ramanan, has announced his candidacy for the position of PKR Vice President in the party’s upcoming elections this May. This decision is seen as a strategic move that not only strengthens his position within the party but also benefits the Indian community in national leadership.

Political analysts from Ottrangknews predict Ramanan’s victory is almost certain, given his role as the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives and his strong grassroots support. This prediction also highlights the importance of Indian representation in the leadership of the multi-ethnic party, with Ramanan being viewed as the most qualified candidate compared to those who are merely appointed without contesting.

Meanwhile, Nurul Izzah Anwar, who was previously speculated to be running for Vice President, is now seen as a stronger contender for the position of Deputy President. However, in a mature and strategic move for the party and her father, PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, she has stepped aside to allow other candidates to contest the position. Her decision has been widely praised, demonstrating her political maturity.

At the same time, the race for the Vice President position is intensifying, with incumbents such as Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Chang Lih Kang, and PKR Information Chief and Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil all vying for the position. However, Ottrangknews views Ramanan as a strong frontrunner, particularly in championing the development and well-being of the Indian community within PKR.

With the party elections scheduled for May 24, this contest is expected to be a crucial battleground in shaping PKR’s leadership direction ahead of the next General Election. Nurul Izzah, seen as a potential Deputy President candidate, is expected to bring significant change to the party’s leadership, while Ramanan is projected to strengthen the Indian community’s voice within PKR and the government.
