In a glittering ceremony, JMR unveiled their Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the team’s signature blue and silver livery, based on the eighth-generation Corvette Z06 production car. The driver line-up consists of Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim, and also co-drivers Britain’s Alexander Sims and Australia’s Jordan Love.
JMR’s Commitment
Meanwhile, Tunku Abdul Rahman said JMR are the only team in Asia racing the Corvette this season.
"We are proud to be partnering with Chevrolet to emulate the success they’ve had abroad here on our continent. We are really looking forward to our journey together and our long-term plans," said Tunku Abdul Rahman.
Competitive Success
JMR manager Andrew Simpson said the team is looking forward to continuing their competitive success over the past seven years with JMR’s new setup.
"The whole JMR team is looking forward to making our debut at Sepang Circuit from April 10 to 13. Since I first got involved with JMR in 2018, I have seen Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Abu Bakar progress rapidly as drivers, to the point where we are now challenging for podiums every time we roll out onto the circuit.
"We have had some positive test days in preparation for Round 1, and we expect to have a competitive package with the new Corvettes for the season ahead," he said.
Corvette Racing Legacy
From 1999 through 2023, Corvette Racing – operated by Pratt Miller Engineering – scored 127 race wins, including nine at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and four at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Those victories led to 14 Manufacturers’ titles, 15 Drivers’ Championships, and 16 Team titles. No team in International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) history has won more races or championships than Corvette Racing in that span.
