AYER KUNING: Barisan Nasional (BN)’s candidate for the Ayer Kuning by-election, Yusri Bakir, has garnered strong backing from the entire Unity Government machinery led by the Madani administration. Support is pouring in from major component parties such as UMNO, MCA, MIC, as well as allies within Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Yusri Bakir, who serves as the UMNO Youth Chief for Tapah Division, is a local son of the area. Known as a grassroots leader close to the people, he has been actively engaged in community work and is committed to voicing the concerns of Ayer Kuning residents at both the state and national levels. With a solid background in management and a reputation for dedicated service, Yusri is widely seen as the most qualified candidate to continue BN’s legacy in this constituency.
Dato’ Sri M. Saravanan, Member of Parliament for Tapah and Deputy President of MIC, expressed full confidence in BN’s victory. Saravanan, who has earned the title “Lion Giant of Tapah” after successfully defending his Tapah seat for four consecutive terms, stressed that winning Ayer Kuning is crucial to maintaining progress and prosperity for the people.
“As the MP for Tapah over four terms, I understand the pulse of the people. They want continuity and sustained development. With a candidate like Yusri Bakir, who works tirelessly and stays close to the ground, I am confident that BN’s victory is within reach,” declared Dato’ Sri Saravanan with conviction.
He also praised the commitment shown by the Madani government machinery, which has gone all out to secure a win for Yusri. “The Madani government is fully committed. We are moving as one team. I am certain that Perikatan Nasional (PN) will fall in Ayer Kuning. The people are wise enough to make the right choice,” added Saravanan.
Saravanan, renowned for his firm leadership and close ties with the multiracial communities of Tapah, also called on Indian voters to remain steadfast in supporting BN for a brighter future.
The Ayer Kuning by-election, scheduled for April 26, will see a three-cornered fight between Yusri Bakir (BN), Abdul Muhaimin Malek (PN), and KS Bawani (PSM). Political analysts widely predict a BN victory, bolstered by strong backing from the unity government and local residents eager for continued development.
