Pahang Bersatu Treasurer Accuses Party Leadership of Being Dishonest and Untrustworthy, Leaves with 40 State Chapter Members

Leadership in Disarray, Lacks Integrity

Pahang Bersatu treasurer Roslan Hassan has led a group of 40 state chapter members in leaving the party, just hours before the party’s elections tomorrow. In a statement, Roslan accused the party’s national leadership of being in disarray, dishonest, and untrustworthy.

Loss of Confidence

The group, which includes Roslan, has lost confidence in the top leadership and believes that they have failed to fulfill their responsibilities. Roslan also claimed that the party has not provided a proper reason for suspending Bentong Bersatu’s committee in September.

Suspicion of Committee Suspension

Roslan, who was previously the Bentong Bersatu chief, suspected that the chapter’s committee was suspended because he voiced disagreement with several amendments presented at Bersatu’s convention in July. He believes that the suspension is a result of his dissenting opinions, which were not welcomed by the party’s leadership.

Calls for Trust and Integrity

Roslan emphasized that "calls for trust and integrity are merely rhetoric by Bersatu’s current top leadership… There have been many instances where the goalposts have been shifted to favour certain parties." He also believes that the public is aware that many Bersatu leaders are revealing their negative traits in managing the party.

Election Committee’s Decision

Earlier today, Bersatu’s election committee announced that the leadership of 10 divisions had been suspended, although Bentong was not included in the list. Committee chairman Abdul Azim Zabidi stated that the divisions will not be able to convene for the elections tomorrow, which are usually held at the respective divisions.

Uncontested Elections in Terengganu

Meanwhile, three state assemblymen from Terengganu will retain their positions as heads of their respective Bersatu divisions tomorrow after being unchallenged for their posts. The assemblymen are Kijal assemblyman Razali Idris, Seberang Takir assemblyman Khazan Che Mat, and Permaisuri assemblyman Yusop Majid, who head the Marang, Kuala Nerus, and Setiu Bersatu divisions respectively.

Conclusion

Roslan’s departure from the party, along with 40 state chapter members, highlights the internal conflicts and leadership issues within Bersatu. The party’s leadership has been accused of being dishonest, untrustworthy, and lacking integrity, which may have significant implications for its future.
