A shocking incident of a machete robbery occurred at a grocery store in Jalan Pokok Machang, Tasek Gelugor, yesterday. The suspect, believed to be a local male, allegedly used a machete to rob the store and escape on a motorcycle.

Video Footage Released

Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Anuar Abdul Rahman confirmed that police have obtained a video of the robbery, which has gone viral on social media. The video is expected to provide crucial evidence in the investigation.

Eyewitness Account

According to ACP Anuar, the police received a report from the local woman owner of the grocery store, who stated that her Pakistani male worker was held up at the store. The suspect allegedly used a machete to grab RM2,500 in sales collection before escaping on a motorcycle whose registration number could not be identified.

CCTV Footage

A closed-circuit camera (CCTV) recording at the shop captured the incident, but unfortunately, the footage could not clearly identify the suspect as he was wearing a dark-coloured helmet and face mask.
