Authorities Urged to Investigate Fake Title and Unethical Practices of ‘Dato’ Seri Dr. SSAP DASM (ED USA)’ in Puchong

Must Read

Puchong, Selangor – Authorities have been urged to investigate the misuse of honorary titles by an individual claiming to be Dato’ Seri Dr. SSAP DASM (ED USA), a purported Ayurvedic practitioner in Puchong. Serious allegations of unethical practices and fraud against patients have raised public concern.

The individual is reported to have used titles such as ‘Dato’ Seri’ and ‘Dr.’ to promote Ayurvedic treatments allegedly capable of curing severe illnesses, including end-stage kidney disease. However, these claims have been called into question following the death of a patient who sought treatment at the clinic.

Fraud Allegations Centered on Fake Titles

The family of the patient, who suffered from stage 5 kidney disease, claimed to have spent RM8,000 on the treatment with no signs of recovery. The patient subsequently passed away, raising suspicions of false promises and financial exploitation of vulnerable individuals seeking alternative treatments.

Activists and Journalists Call for Immediate Action

Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan, a prominent activist and Editor-in-Chief of Ottrangknews, has called on Health Minister Dr. Zulkafli and Puchong MP YB Yeo Bee Yin to intervene immediately. He urged them to investigate the practitioner’s qualifications, financial dealings, and use of honorary titles.

“The misuse of honorary titles like ‘Dato’ Seri’ and ‘Dr.’ without legitimate qualifications undermines trust in our healthcare system. Immediate action is needed to protect patients from such fraud,” emphasized Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan.

Comprehensive Investigation Demanded

The following measures have been proposed to address the issue:

1. Verification of Titles and Qualifications: Authorities, including the Ministry of Health (MOH), must investigate the authenticity of the practitioner’s academic and professional credentials.

2. Financial Investigation: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should examine the practitioner’s finances for signs of fraudulent activities.

3. Clinic Suspension: The clinic’s operations should be suspended immediately until investigations are complete.

Protecting Patients and Parliamentary Responsibility

YB Yeo Bee Yin has been urged to raise this matter in Parliament to ensure stricter regulations on medical titles and the operation of alternative medicine clinics. The public is reminded to remain vigilant and report suspicious practices to the authorities.

Safeguarding the Integrity of Malaysia’s Healthcare System

Malaysia, renowned for its world-class healthcare system, must ensure that incidents like this do not tarnish its reputation. Firm action is required to protect patients and restore public confidence in healthcare services with integrity.

This case highlights the urgent need for stricter enforcement against the misuse of titles and unauthorized medical practices to ensure Malaysians receive safe and effective healthcare.
