Awtar Singh Urges MIC and MCA to Take Firm Action Against UMNO in Barisan Nasional

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 December 2024 – A fiery speech by Awtar Singh on TikTok has sparked intense debate in the political arena. In his address, Awtar Singh, a former politician, called on MIC and MCA to take decisive action by removing UMNO from Barisan Nasional (BN).

He stated that it is high time MIC and MCA stopped being “treated like dogs” by UMNO and defended their dignity and party interests. “This is Barisan Nasional, not UMNO’s father’s property. It belongs to three main parties – MIC, MCA, and UMNO. If UMNO continues to belittle you, kick them out of the coalition,” Awtar Singh declared.

In his speech, Awtar Singh highlighted that MIC and MCA leaders are often sidelined in the distribution of positions and projects despite being part of BN. He also criticized UMNO’s leadership for allegedly prioritizing internal interests over the welfare of all coalition parties.

“If you have the guts, take action. Stop licking UMNO and PMX. We need morals and face value. If UMNO doesn’t respect you, kick them out,” he said passionately.

He also referred to remarks by MCA President Datuk Dr. Wee Ka Siong, who previously emphasized that UMNO does not respect BN component parties. In this context, Awtar Singh argued that it is time for MIC and MCA to show their resolve.

The speech has drawn widespread attention on social media, eliciting mixed reactions from the public. Some supported Awtar Singh’s perspective, while others viewed it as a move that could potentially fracture BN.
