KUALA LUMPUR, 12 May 2025 – The reappointment of Tan Sri Azam Baki as Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) not only reflects the full confidence of the government and the nation’s highest institutions in his leadership, but also stands as clear evidence of his tenacity and firmness in leading the fight against corruption in the country.
Azam Baki, who is now entering his third consecutive term at the helm of the MACC, has expressed his determination to improve Malaysia’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) to a better level, ensuring that the country continues to be respected internationally and trusted by foreign investors.
“This fight is far from over. My team at MACC and I remain committed to combating all forms of corruption, abuse of power, and misappropriation. This is not just a position, but a trust that must be carried out with integrity and courage,” he said in an official statement today.
With deep appreciation, he extended his heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, for the royal assent, and also to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the continued trust and support in his leadership.
Commenting on the reappointment, Dato G Kumaar Aamaann, Chief Editor of Ottrangknews, described it as an extraordinary milestone that further strengthens the MACC as the country’s final fortress against a culture of corruption.
“Ottrangknews firmly supports the reappointment of Tan Sri Azam Baki. This is not just a headline—it is a signal that Malaysia is serious about reform. We extend our congratulations and salute to TS Azam, and we believe the real journey is only just beginning,” said Dato G Kumaar Aamaann in his media statement.
He also urged Malaysians to continue supporting the MACC and to join efforts to uphold integrity within the national administrative system.
With this renewed mandate, the public now places high hopes on the continued advancement of institutional reforms — toward building a corruption-free Malaysia that can stand tall on the global stage.
