Main Stadium Complex to Feature Multi-Facilities
The Bukit Merbau Sports Complex in Selising, Pasir Puteh is expected to achieve the targeted capacity of 20,000 spectators, said Kelantan Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Committee chairman Zamakhshari Muhamad.
The main stadium complex is set to be equipped with a football field, athletics track, indoor arena that can accommodate 1,000 spectators, and a multi-purpose court.
"As for the physical progress of the main stadium in this complex, the construction status to date is 5.26 per cent," he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Other Facilities to Include Hockey Stadium and Shooting Range
The complex will also have a 500-spectator capacity hockey stadium, two fields, a 100-spectator capacity squash centre, eight permanent courts and one mobile court.
"We will also build a shooting range with a 100-spectator capacity that will have 30 lanes of 30-metre (m) indoor shooting and 15 lanes for 25m and 50m outdoor shooting,” he said.
Stadium Complex Project Progressing Smoothly
The stadium complex project is progressing smoothly under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) allocation of RM256 million and is set to host the 2028 Malaysia Games (SUKMA).
