KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) – Former Malaysia Swimming (MS) secretary-general Mae Chen believes that her involvement with Datuk Dr Ramlan Abd Aziz as committee members of the Road to Gold (RTG) programme can add value to the initiative.

Mae Chen said she has a good working relationship with Dr Ramlan, the former National Sports Institute (NSI) chief executive officer, having collaborated during the 2012 London Olympics.
"Dr Ramlan is a very experienced person to have on board. He has such wisdom and his past knowledge of sports will be really helpful," she told Bernama when contacted today.
"We worked well together and I’ve always called him for advice when I was with the then Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM)," she added.

Although the first RTG committee meeting will only be held after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, Mae Chen can’t wait to share her ideas regarding the programme, which is aimed at delivering the country’s first Olympic gold medal.
"I’m actually honoured to be appointed to the RTG. Looking forward to working with a team of professionals and experienced colleagues," she said.
"Once we have the first meeting to understand the requirements of the job scope, only then will I be able to delve deeper and see how I can actually contribute towards the RTG programme," she added.
