Sabah Football Association Denies Sale of Sabah FC Shares
The Sabah Football Association (SAFA) has issued a statement to clarify its position regarding the sale of Sabah FC shares, following a recent post on social media claiming that a party had been offered the opportunity to take over the team.
No Negotiations or Meetings with Parties
According to SAFA President Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, the association has never engaged in any negotiations with any party regarding the sale of Sabah FC shares. Additionally, SAFA has never met with any individual or representative claiming to have received an offer to purchase shares of Sabah FC.
No Involvement of Chief Minister
Shahelmey, who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III, denied that SAFA had informed Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor regarding the alleged sale of Sabah FC shares.
Statement to Clarify Position
Shahelmey emphasized that SAFA has never met with any individual or representative of any party claiming to have an offer to purchase Sabah FC. "This statement is issued to clarify SAFA and Sabah FC’s position to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding regarding the allegation," he said.
Origin of the Allegation
The statement was made in response to a post on Facebook under an account named DSAT, which claimed to have been ‘offered’ the opportunity to take over Sabah FC.
