Leadership and Stability: A Recipe for Progress in Sabah and Malaysia
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has emphasized that political stability is crucial for the government to focus on implementing various programmes to develop Sabah and the country, particularly in efforts to help the people.
In a statement made at the Sabah state-level MADANI Breaking of Fast event, Anwar reiterated that political stability in both Sabah and the whole country needs to be maintained so that every leader can focus on realising the people’s aspirations. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for helping to create a calm political atmosphere, which allows the government to focus on its people.
Anwar also praised the cooperation among leaders from all parties, stating that when they are stable, they can focus on how the industrial plan works, including the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies on the global system.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of leaders changing their attitudes to ensure the existing cooperation can be enhanced to make sure Sabah and Malaysia continue to progress and develop rapidly. He reminded leaders that "United we can overcome problems. But there are leaders who still condemn here and there, (hurl) insults here and there (as well as) fight over cultural and language issues."
Anwar also held talks with the Chief Minister, state executive council members, and senior Federal and state officers regarding projects implemented in Sabah, such as roads, schools, and clinics, with a focus on implementing these projects immediately for the convenience and comfort of the people.
