PUCHONG, Aug 6 (Bernama) — Young national rider, Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli is aiming to emerge as the overall champion of the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup (RBMRC), thus paving the way for him to compete in the Moto3 World Championship next season.

To realise this wish, the 18-year-old rider only needs to ensure a podium finish with two rounds remaining at the Red Bull Ring Circuit in Austria and the Misano Circuit in Italy.

Hakim Danish is currently leading the RBMRC competition with 154 points, only 13 points ahead his closest challenger, Brian Uriarte of Spain.

“I see that for now RBMRC is the most important for me because I am at the top of the chart.

“So I will fully focus on winning the overall championship for this competition and I need to give maximum performance,” he said when met at the handover ceremony of his new Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle through a UMA Racing and RCB upgrade here today.

Earlier, the high-performance component manufacturer presented a surprise in the form of upgraded components worth more than RM20,000 to the Terengganu racer to compete in the remaining RBMRC 2025.

In the fifth round of RBMRC 2025 at Sachsenring Circuit, Germany last month, Hakim Danish only finished Race 1 in 10th position before failing to score any points in Race 2 when he crashed with 15 laps remaining in the race and was in seventh position.

Meanwhile, UMA Racing assistant general manager, Alfred Lim Chiu Siong hopes the surprise for Hakim Danish will fuel his and other local racers’ enthusiasm to continue creating success in racing to bring glory to the country.

“Through this collaboration, UMA Racing together with RCB strengthen support for grassroots talent, support young talent and the future of the country’s young athletes, and ensure that they have the right equipment to pursue their dreams responsibly,” he said.
