Boss Bus Camp: A Unique Dining Experience in Ipoh

A Nostalgic Twist on Bus Travel

In a bid to preserve the memories of his parents from the era of old bus services, 35-year-old Mohd Ikram Mohadom has transformed five decommissioned buses into cozy dining spaces in Taman Chateau, Ipoh. Boss Bus Camp, which kicked off in October, offers a unique experience for people of all ages and backgrounds.

A Creative Conversion

Each bus is equipped with air conditioning, and its interior has been minimally altered to maintain the original seating and driver’s chairs. The "bus stop" outside has been transformed into a dining area, adding to the charm of this one-of-a-kind eatery. As a special touch, customers are given an old bus ticket as a souvenir before they leave.

Inspiration and Vision

The idea of repurposing old buses as dining spaces was inspired by a bus café Mohd Ikram had seen in Klebang, Melaka. He purchased the buses from several companies, which would have otherwise been discarded, and utilized nearly 0.4ha of land that had previously been left idle.

A Menu to Suit All

Boss Bus Camp serves a range of western and seafood-based meals, with a focus on using locally sourced ingredients. The seafood is sourced from local fishermen around Lumut, and organic chicken is used for fried chicken. Portion sizes are generous, making it an ideal spot for families or groups of friends.

Additional Amenities

In addition to its unique dining spaces, Boss Bus Camp offers a spacious car park and go-kart facilities for visitors who enjoy more active pursuits.
