COMPLAINTS OF POOR TREATMENT DURING LKIM PSYCHOMETRIC TEST ON DECEMBER 23, 2024

Must Read

PUTRAJAYA, December 23, 2024 – Candidates of the Psychometric Test organized by the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) on December 23, 2024, have expressed outrage over poor management and unprofessional conduct. Numerous issues, including delays, neglected welfare, and unprofessional behavior by staff, have led to formal complaints from participants.

Key issues raised by candidates:

1. Poor Time Management
The test schedule did not adhere to the timing stated in the official email, forcing candidates to wait for extended periods. Some candidates scheduled for 11:00 a.m. only took the test in the afternoon.

2. Misleading Information
Candidates were informed it was a psychometric test, but it turned out to be a general knowledge test without prior notice, affecting their preparation.

3. Neglect of Candidate Welfare
Early-arriving candidates were not prioritized, while latecomers were attended to first. This caused inconvenience, particularly for pregnant women and working individuals who had limited time.

4. Chaotic Management
The test process was disorganized, with reports of special treatment for latecomers, sparking dissatisfaction among other candidates.

5. Lack of Security for Personal Belongings
Candidates’ mobile phones were collected 30 minutes before the test and placed in unsecured locations, posing risks of loss or damage.

6. Unreasonable Procedures
Certain actions, such as lengthy prayers and inefficient distribution of answer sheets, added to the discomfort of participants.

7. Inadequate Waiting Area
Insufficient seating forced candidates to wait in hot or rainy conditions, causing discomfort, especially for pregnant women and those in need of special attention.

8. Unprofessional Behavior
Human Resources Director Farah and chief supervisor Shazlin were criticized for giving instructions in a rude and condescending manner. Other staff were also accused of being uncooperative and unfriendly.

Call for Immediate Action
Candidates are urging the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, YB Mohamad Sabu, and the Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri KSU, to investigate and address LKIM’s alleged unprofessionalism. They demand improvements to future test processes to ensure fairness, transparency, and proper care for candidates.

This development highlights the urgent need for reforms in managing public examinations and recruitment processes in Malaysia.
