The old fire burns anew!
A 2023 incident has reignited massive outrage across all platforms — YouTube, TikTok, and X are ablaze with discussions!
Dato G Kumaar Aamaan, Chief Editor of Ottrangknews, alongside prominent lawyer and activist Siti Kassim, is leading the charge against the ongoing issue of dress code discrimination at government offices. The spotlight is back on SSM (Companies Commission of Malaysia) after a woman was barred from entering the Ipoh SSM office because her dress hemline ended slightly above the knee.
Siti Kassim has voiced her anger and disgust over this discriminatory practice, stressing that such actions are unacceptable in today’s society. She is fighting fiercely for the victim’s rights and demanding justice for all women who have been subjected to similar humiliations.
Despite SSM expressing “regret” in 2023 and defending its long-standing dress code, public pressure is mounting for accountability and reform. Many argue that this is not an isolated case — innocent women continue to face the same discriminatory treatment at various agencies.
The incident saw Khor Hooi Chin, 41, forced to buy a longer dress just to complete her task, waiting hours to be served. This echoes another case in Kajang, where a woman was barred from lodging a police report due to her skirt length.
As public frustration boils over, Dato G Kumaar Aamaan is urging Minister Antony Loke to take immediate action to ensure justice and policy reform.
“If no drastic changes are made, the authorities must be held accountable. It’s time for the Director General of SSM to apologise and lead the way for real change,” voices echo online.
The people demand respect and fairness — no more outdated, oppressive policies!
