Dato G Kumaar Aamaan Applauds Deputy IGP Ayob Khan’s Bold Stand to Ban Vape Sales: “This is the Leadership We Need!”

In a powerful and urgent response to the worsening vape crisis in Malaysia, Dato G Kumaar Aamaan, Chief Editor of Ottrangknews and a leading community activist, has praised Deputy Inspector-General of Police, YDH Dato’ Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, for his firm statement urging state governments to ban the sale of e-cigarettes—devices increasingly linked to synthetic drug abuse.

“This is the kind of fearless leadership the nation needs,” said Dato G in a breaking statement. “Ottrangknews has been sounding the alarm on this issue for over a year. Finally, we see a top official bravely stepping up to protect our youth and our future.”

The Deputy IGP’s remarks have reignited public debate following a statement by Health Minister Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, who clarified that state governments have the legal right to enforce a ban on vape sales through their respective local councils.

However, Dato G expressed disappointment with the Health Ministry’s lack of urgency.
“It is sad to hear such a passive tone from the Health Minister. This isn’t just about local policies it’s about national health and safety. It’s time for federal and state leaders to act in unity and ban these harmful products immediately.”

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari also signalled readiness to review the ban, while Johor remains the only state to have implemented a full ban on vape sales.

In his statement, Dato G reaffirmed Ottrangknews’ commitment to fighting for public health and exposing the silent threats affecting communities.
“We will continue to be the voice of the people. This is not the end it’s the beginning of a real war against synthetic drug abuse hidden behind vape clouds.”
