Disguised Fraud under ‘Ayurveda’ Treatment, Fake Doctor Claiming ‘Datuk Seri’ Title Under Investigation

SERDANG: Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan congratulates the Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin, and Assistant Commissioner A A Anbalagan for their decisive efforts in uncovering a fraudulent syndicate involving a fake traditional ‘ayurveda’ doctor who falsely claims the title of ‘Datuk Seri’. The fake doctor is accused of offering treatments without a valid license in Puchong.

Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner A A Anbalagan, in his latest statement, revealed that the investigation was initiated following several viral posts on social media regarding the fake doctor. A check confirmed that the individual was offering ‘ayurveda’ treatments without approval or recognition from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) or any relevant agencies.

A raid by Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ) on Tuesday discovered that the premises did not possess a license to provide beauty and healthcare services. MBSJ subsequently seized the premises for further action.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 3 of the Awards Related Offenses Act 2017, which imposes a prison sentence of up to three years for using unrecognized awards. Anbalagan also advised the public to refrain from speculating or making comments that could hinder the investigation process.

Reports indicate that the suspect is believed to operate several other branches in Selangor, Johor, Perak, and Penang. One of the most concerning cases involves a woman who revealed that her mother, suffering from chronic kidney disease, sought ‘ayurveda’ treatment from the suspect for six months. The suspect allegedly advised the patient to stop taking hospital medication, promising that the disease could be completely cured with his treatment. However, the victim, who reportedly spent about RM10,000 on the treatment, passed away.

The victim’s child is understood to have filed a police report against the ‘ayurveda’ center. Further monitoring of the suspect’s TikTok account showed that he openly claimed to be able to cure chronic kidney disease through his treatments.

Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan once again praises and congratulates the authorities for their swift action in exposing this syndicate, which has had a significant impact on the community.
