Dato G Kumaar Aamaan Questions Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Malaysians Facing the Death Penalty in Singapore

Must Read

Kuala Lumpur, 20 February 2025 – Prominent activist and Chief Editor of Ottrangknews, Dato G Kumaar Aamaan, has raised serious concerns over the increasing number of Malaysians facing the death penalty in Singapore, particularly for drug-related offences. He has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to address the issue and clarify the effectiveness of border security measures.

Before entering Singapore, all travelers must first clear Malaysian Customs and Immigration checks, either at the Sultan Iskandar CIQ Complex in Johor Bahru for the Causeway or the Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ Complex for the Second Link. Only after passing through Malaysian immigration do they undergo strict inspections by Singapore’s Immigration and Customs authorities at Woodlands Checkpoint or Tuas Checkpoint.

“If our borders are well-guarded, how is it that so many Malaysians are still being arrested and sentenced to death in Singapore for drug trafficking?” Dato G Kumaar Aamaan questioned.

He raised several critical concerns:

1. Are drug syndicates exploiting young and innocent Malaysians as scapegoats without their knowledge?

2. Is there corruption at Malaysian border checkpoints, allowing drugs to pass through despite supposedly strict controls?

3. Are our enforcement officers adequately trained and equipped with the latest technology to detect illegal substances before Malaysians leave the country?

“This is not a new issue, yet the Prime Minister remains silent. How many more Malaysians must face execution before the government takes decisive action?” he stressed.

Dato G Kumaar Aamaan has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the relevant authorities to provide clear answers and take immediate measures to strengthen security at Malaysian border checkpoints to prevent innocent individuals from being exploited and sentenced to death abroad.

“The time for silence is over. The people demand answers, and the government must act now,” he declared.
