Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan Urges Yeo Bee Yin, MP for Puchong and Former Minister, to Take Action Against the Misuse of the ‘Dr’ Title by an Ayurvedic Practitioner

Puchong, Selangor – Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan, Chief Editor of Ottrangknews and activist, has urged Yeo Bee Yin, Member of Parliament for Puchong and former Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) Malaysia, to take firm action against the misuse of the ‘Dr’ title by an Ayurvedic practitioner who has become the center of controversy. The practitioner, who refers to himself as Dato’ Seri Dr., claims to have the ability to heal various diseases, including critical-stage kidney disease, and operates clinics throughout Malaysia.

According to reports received, an individual revealed that his mother passed away after receiving treatment at this practitioner’s clinic. After spending over RM8,000 for treatment of Stage 5 CKD, the woman showed no signs of recovery and eventually died. This incident has raised serious concerns about the misuse of the ‘Dr’ title without qualifications and the fraudulent activities conducted via social media and the clinics operated by this individual.

Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan, who brought this issue to the attention of Yeo Bee Yin, is urging the authorities to take immediate action, given that this practitioner has been operating for several years and making significant profits from deceived patients. He also emphasized that if such issues are allowed to persist, the government should consider shutting down the Ministry of Health (KKM) and all private hospitals that are highly experienced in the medical field, as the existence of practitioners like this tarnishes the image of the nation and its people.

“The government needs to take immediate action to stop this fraud. If we allow such practitioners to continue, it will damage the reputation of our healthcare system, which should be world-class,” said Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan.

He also urged the authorities to freeze the personal and company bank accounts of this practitioner immediately, as many uneducated individuals from the Indian community have fallen victim to this fraud involving the ‘Dr’ title.

Yeo Bee Yin, as a former minister, understands the seriousness of this issue and stressed the importance of authorities like the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM), and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) to conduct raids and investigations on the involved clinics to prevent more patients from becoming victims of this fraud.

Anyone who has fallen victim to or knows of individuals involved in this fraud is urged to report it to the nearest police station immediately to prevent further victims.

Yeo also reminds the public to always be cautious and check the background and qualifications of medical practitioners before undergoing treatment.
