Gua Musang, April 29, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has issued a stern reminder to state governments, warning them not to put on a friendly face when requesting allocations from the Federal Government, only to turn around and criticize or insult the Prime Minister once their demands have been fulfilled.
He said such behavior reflects poor political ethics and does not demonstrate maturity or integrity in leadership.
“Don’t smile when asking for help, and then go back to attacking the Prime Minister once you’ve gotten what you wanted. Don’t do that—instead, be thankful,” Zahid said during a community event in Gua Musang.
He stressed that state leaders should appreciate the efforts of the Federal Government in providing assistance and resources for the benefit of the people, regardless of political affiliations.
“Mature politics is not just about words—it must be shown through actions. Do not repay kindness with betrayal. The people are watching and will judge accordingly,” he said.
