SHAH ALAM, 23 April – A heartbreaking incident took place at a temple in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat yesterday, when a mother and daughter selling flowers were robbed by a group of machete-wielding men.
Deputy Chief of the Kuala Langat District Police, Deputy Superintendent Mohd Sufian Amin, confirmed that the incident occurred at around 1.30pm, with a report lodged at 4.50pm.
According to him, the victims were approached by four masked men believed to be locals who arrived in a Proton Saga. The suspects brandished machetes at the victims and snatched a gold necklace from the mother’s neck before fleeing the scene.
“The victim suffered no injuries, but incurred losses of approximately RM4,000. The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code,” he said.
This incident has reignited public concern, particularly as criminals seem increasingly bold in committing such acts in broad daylight and within places of worship.
Ottrangknews Chief Editor, Dato G Kumaar Aamaan, strongly condemned the robbery and urged police to take the harshest action possible, especially if the perpetrators are from a particular community that is tarnishing its own reputation.
“We will not tolerate such ‘anjing baruah’ (disgraceful criminals) who challenge our laws and public safety. Do not test our patience! If you have the courage to commit crime in the open, you must also face the full weight of the law,” he stressed.
Dato G added that such acts demonstrate a blatant lack of fear and respect towards the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), as if these criminals are deliberately provoking them.
