KUALA LUMPUR: A viral TikTok video showing an Indian driver allegedly driving under the influence has sparked widespread discussion on social media.
In the video, a Road Transport Department (JPJ) officer conducting a vehicle inspection asks the driver, “How can you drive while drunk when you can’t even walk properly?” The driver casually responds, “Can!”
The JPJ officer’s decision to stop the vehicle has been widely praised, as allowing such a driver on the road could have led to a serious accident, endangering other road users. This incident serves as yet another reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence.
Following this, some have urged the government to take strict measures, including shutting down all liquor shops nationwide, to ensure Malaysia remains free from alcohol consumption and gambling, which contribute to various social and safety issues.
