BATU CAVES, 8 February 2025 – Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, arrived at Batu Caves today for a historic visit to the revered religious site, which holds great significance for the Hindu community. He was warmly welcomed by thousands of devotees and visitors.
DS Anwar Ibrahim’s arrival at Batu Caves marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the federal government and Malaysia’s Indian community. During the visit, DS Anwar toured new development areas underway around Batu Caves, including projects that benefit the Hindu community in the area.
“This is a historic day. We will continue to strive for balanced and inclusive development for all communities in the country,” said DS Anwar in his speech during the visit.
The visit was also accompanied by Tan Sri Vigneswaran, the President of MIC, who expressed appreciation to the government for its support towards the development of Batu Caves and the Hindu community in Malaysia.
“The government of DS Anwar Ibrahim has shown strong commitment in ensuring harmony and balanced development for all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion,” said Tan Sri Vigneswaran.
In addition to the tour of the new development areas, DS Anwar Ibrahim also participated in a dialogue session with local Hindu community leaders, listening to various views and suggestions for joint progress.
With this visit, DS Anwar Ibrahim once again demonstrated his commitment to the country’s multi-ethnic communities, reinforcing the government’s support for fair and inclusive development.
