Education Ministry Dismisses Claims of SPM History Paper Leak

Must Read

PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry has firmly rejected claims that the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) History examination paper was leaked, following an investigation into social media posts alleging a breach.

In a statement released on Thursday (Jan 9), the Ministry addressed the viral circulation of posts and screenshots, clarifying that the materials shared online only contained a list of topics from the History textbook. These were mere predictions for the exam, not actual questions.

“The Education Ministry has conducted a thorough investigation and found the allegations to be baseless,” the statement read. “No questions from History Papers 1 and 2 of the 2024 SPM examination were displayed in any of the posts or screenshots.”

The viral claims had previously suggested that students had shared answers and questions for both History papers days before the exam. However, the Ministry emphasized that such claims did not qualify as a “leak,” based on the established procedures of the Examination Board for managing incidents and ensuring security.

The Ministry also reassured students, advising them to stay calm and focused during their exams. “We are committed to ensuring the confidentiality of public examination papers and guaranteeing fairness for all candidates,” the statement concluded.

SPM candidates are encouraged to disregard the rumors and maintain their focus as they continue their preparations for the exams.
