ABU DHABI, March 14 (Bernama-WAM) — The highly anticipated F1 film trailer has been released, giving fans a first glimpse of the star-studded racing drama featuring Brad Pitt, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The F1 film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Dawn Apollo Films (founded by Sir Lewis Hamilton), Plan B Entertainment and Apple Original Films, will hit theatres worldwide on June 25, with IMAX screenings and a North American release on June 27 via Warner Bros Pictures.

Abu Dhabi played a major role in the film’s production, with 29 days of filming at the Yas Marina Circuit, Zayed International Airport, and twofour54 Studios at Yas Creative Hub.

The cast, including Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, and Javier Bardem, worked alongside an international production team, a local crew of 284, and 15 young Emirati interns under the Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s rebate programme.

F1 is among 170 major productions the commission has supported since the scheme’s introduction in 2013.

Creative Media Authority’s Acting Director-General Mohamed Dobay described the trailer as “a glimpse into our first partnership with Apple Original Films’ F1, one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2025.”

He highlighted the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, W Abu Dhabi, and the city’s iconic skyline, which feature prominently in the trailer.

Head of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission Sameer Al Jaberi meanwhile, said “It’s an emotional moment to watch the culmination of our efforts in a film trailer.

“Knowing the dedication that went into making this, from behind-the-scenes work to collaborating with an incredible cast and crew, makes the upcoming release even more special.”

The film follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a rising Formula 1 star of the 1990s whose career was cut short by a devastating crash.

Thirty years later, his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), now the owner of a struggling F1 team, convinces him to return for one last shot at redemption.

Racing alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a fearless young rookie, Sonny soon realises that in F1, a teammate can be your fiercest rival, and the path to redemption is never taken alone.
