GUA MUSANG: A tragic accident occurred on Saturday (Jan 25) when a father and his daughter lost their lives in a collision between their car and a lorry on the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang highway.
The incident, which happened around 4:00 AM, claimed the life of a 46-year-old man, who was found trapped in the driver’s seat and pronounced dead at the scene. His 15-year-old daughter was believed to have been thrown six meters into a ravine due to the impact of the crash.
Senior Fire Officer I, Mohd Razani Mamat, from the Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station, reported that the Perodua Alza MPV driven by the victim, who was traveling from Kota Bharu to Kuala Lumpur, collided with a 10-tonne lorry coming from the opposite direction.
“We received an emergency call at 4:06 AM, and the operation ended at 5:45 AM. During the rescue operation, the man was found unconscious and trapped in the driver’s seat,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
