KUALA LUMPUR, December 9 – The Immigration Department of Malaysia (Immigration) has confirmed that three of its officers were detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with allegations of integrity violations during a joint operation in Johor.
In an official statement, the Immigration Department expressed its full cooperation with the MACC in the investigation involving senior officers, including a 40-year-old female officer. The female officer was detained for 24 hours before being released, while three other suspects, including a company director, are expected to be remanded today.
Joint Operation Between MACC and Immigration
“This operation was carried out jointly by MACC and Immigration at the Johor State Immigration Headquarters to conduct further investigations. The department will not compromise with any officer proven to be involved in integrity violations. Stern action will be taken regardless of rank or position,” the statement read.

The Immigration Department emphasized its unwavering commitment to strengthening governance, administration, discipline, and integrity to restore the department’s image and reputation. This effort aligns with their primary objective of ensuring the department is respected and trusted.
Case Involving Corruption and Money Laundering
The case is linked to the misuse of foreign visa applications, amounting to RM1.2 million. Other suspects include a company director allegedly involved in supplying office equipment, cleaning services, and security tools. The company director was arrested at the Seremban Rest and Service (R&R) area in Negeri Sembilan.
The Immigration Department urged the public not to speculate until the investigation is completed to ensure justice is upheld.
