No Oil, No Boil: A Restaurant Serving RAW and Delicious Meals

PETALING JAYA: Startups and entrepreneurs often dare to dream, and Senavarayan Balakrishnan, the founder of "No Oil, No Boil The Vegan Kitchen" is no exception. Despite the unconventional concept of serving only raw food, his cyberjaya eatery is winning over health-conscious diners.

A Restaurant without Oil

True to its name, "No Oil, No Boil" does not use a single drop of oil in its kitchen. This might raise questions, but Senavarayan believes his "no oil" concept will appeal to those who are health-conscious. According to him, many who have adopted a raw vegan diet have experienced improvements in their health, with some even recovering from various ailments.

The Menu

The restaurant’s menu features an array of dishes that combine vegetables and sweets, served in a unique way. The Signature Meal is a popular choice, which combines eight to 10 vegetables and sweets, banana leaf rice-style. The meal is served with flattened aval rice, which requires no cooking.

How it Tastes

So, how does a no-oil meal taste? Surprisingly, it is quite satisfying. At first, it may be difficult to get used to, but once you start enjoying it, the flavors really come alive. The best part is how all the individual parts blend together to create a delicious union of flavors and textures.

The Chefs’ Expertise

The chefs at "No Oil, No Boil" have all learned their skills from Madam Kannamal, the founder of "No Oil No Boil" in Chennai, India, who is a student of Padayal. Their expertise has resulted in the creation of over 2,500 unique recipes that highlight the true flavor of food without the use of oil.

The Future of Food

Senavarayan’s vision is to promote a healthier lifestyle among Malaysians. He hopes that people will come and try his concept, which may change the way they see food forever. "When I serve this food, I feel I’m doing my part for the community. It’s a small contribution from our side to the people of Malaysia, to promote a healthier lifestyle," he said.
