KUALA BERANG – An ice factory worker appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday (Dec 30), where he pleaded guilty to charges related to the possession of explicit material.
Muhammad Affandi Mohd Azi, 33, was accused of possessing inappropriate content at a house in Kampung Batangan, Marang, on Dec 23 at around 8.50pm.
He was charged under Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which outlines penalties of up to RM10,000 in fines, a jail term of up to five years, or both upon conviction. In addition, he faced charges under Section 292 of the Penal Code, which includes a maximum three-year prison term, a fine, or both.
Magistrate Zur Azureen Zainalkefli granted bail of RM8,000 with one surety, with sentencing scheduled for Jan 15.
