Kuala Lumpur, 30 December – Despite an official notice issued by the Department of Director-General of Lands and Mines (JKPTG) demanding the vacating of land illegally occupied in downtown Kuala Lumpur, operations at the site are still ongoing. This situation has raised public concerns, with Telegram’s investigative team beginning an inquiry into possible corruption surrounding the issue.
The notice, issued on 22 October 2024, called for the vacating of land at Lot 9, Geran 47463, Section 91, Kuala Lumpur, which was found to be occupied without proper authorization. The individuals involved were given a 30-day period to vacate the land, with a warning that enforcement action would be taken if the directive was not complied with.
However, reports indicate that activities on the land continue without any decisive action from the authorities. This has raised questions among the public, with allegations that corruption may be the main reason for the failure to enforce the eviction order.
Telegram’s investigative team is now looking into the possibility of corruption or misconduct that is hindering the execution of the eviction order. Several sources claim that certain parties might be benefiting from the continued operation of the land, causing delays in enforcement.
“Evidence shows the land is still in use despite the notice being issued. We need to understand why authorities have yet to take action,” said Telegram’s investigative edition.
The public is now urging authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure transparency in resolving the issue.
