ISTANBUL, June 25 (Bernama-Anadolu) — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed his country’s willingness to resolve differences with the United States (US) based on a fair and international framework, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.
According to Iranian state television, Pezeshkian conveyed this stance during separate phone conversations on Tuesday with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“We hope that negotiations between Iran and the US will begin soon and lead to a positive outcome,” he was quoted as saying in the call with the Saudi crown prince.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran seeks fair and reasonable agreements grounded in international law — agreements that uphold the inalienable rights of the Iranian people and contribute to regional stability and development.
“We have no demands beyond our rightful entitlements and welcome any support from friendly and brotherly nations in resolving these matters,” he added.
During the conversation, Mohammed bin Salman was reported as saying that Saudi Arabia had condemned Israel’s actions against Iran from the outset and had not allowed any use of its airspace for such operations.
“Neither we nor any other country in our region have opened our airspace for any action against Iran, and we will not do so. There will also be no operations against Iran from US bases in our countries. We also understand your obligations to respond to the US attack,” the crown prince said.
In his call with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Pezeshkian said the region could be built “together without foreign interference, in an environment of cooperation, stability, and peace.”
The UAE leader reportedly reiterated his country’s long-standing position in support of initiatives that advance peace and regional security, stressing the importance of ensuring agreements benefit all countries and peoples in the region.
Meanwhile, in his conversation with Sharif, Pezeshkian underscored that “the enemies’ conspiracies cannot harm the friendship between Iran and Pakistan.”
Tensions escalated after Israel launched airstrikes on multiple sites in Iran starting June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, claiming Tehran was on the brink of producing a nuclear weapon — an allegation strongly denied by Iran.
Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes, prompting the United States (US) to enter the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday.
After 12 days of hostilities between Israel and Iran, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire on Monday night, urging all parties to uphold it.
