Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC, a Malaysian football club, suffered their first defeat in the 2024/25 ASEAN Club Championship campaign, losing 0-2 to Singapore’s Lion City Sailors in a Group B fixture at the Jalan Besar Stadium, on January 9.

Lion City Sailors skipper Bailey Wright headed in a corner kick in the 26th minute to put the host team in front. Belgian winger Maxime Lestienne then doubled the lead in the 66th minute, securing Lion City Sailors’ first win in the third group stage match.

KL City had to accept their first defeat in the tournament, following their identical 1-0 victories against Kaya Iloilo of the Philippines and Indonesia’s Borneo FC Samarinda.
