SEREMBAN, MARCH 18 – The extraordinary success of the Negeri Sembilan police in dismantling a RM40 million drug syndicate has stunned the public, following shocking revelations about the scale of the illegal operation, which is believed to have been active for a year.

Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof, confirmed that four locations in Seremban were used as drug processing laboratories and storage facilities, including homestays that appeared unsuspecting to the public.

> “This is one of the biggest drug seizures this year in Negeri Sembilan. Our team has conducted intensive intelligence gathering over the past three months before raiding these locations. We will not allow drug syndicates to continue destroying society,” he said at a press conference.

In this high-risk operation, the police successfully seized 274.14 kilograms of various drugs, including syabu (methamphetamine), heroin, ecstasy, ketamine, Eramin 5 pills, and cannabis, which could potentially supply 442,548 drug users.

52-Year-Old Man Arrested

A 52-year-old man, believed to be the caretaker of the storage facility, was arrested to assist in the investigation. In addition to the drug seizure, the police also confiscated a vehicle, cash, and jewelry worth RM253,413, suspected to be proceeds from the illegal trade.

Public Shocked but Praise Police for Their Bravery

The success of this operation has triggered widespread public shock and praise, as many were unaware that such a large-scale drug operation had been running unnoticed in Seremban.

> “We are truly shocked! Who would have thought there was such a massive drug lab right here in Seremban? Kudos to the Negeri Sembilan police for their swift action!” said a local resident.

> “We hope more operations like this will be carried out to rid the country of the drug menace,” added another.

The suspect is now remanded until Thursday for further investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death penalty or life imprisonment if convicted.
