Loke, who is also the transport minister, made this statement after the party’s 18th national congress in Shah Alam, where 30 members were appointed to the CEC.

Loke emphasized that DAP leaders still represent the party, and therefore, ministers or deputy ministers will continue to serve in their current positions, regardless of whether they are CEC members or not. The party will not propose any changes to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and if the prime minister wants to make a reshuffle, he will seek the party’s views as well.

The 30 members appointed to the CEC include:

  • Damansara MP Gobind Singh Deo, who secured the top spot with 2,785 votes
  • Sarawak DAP chief Chong Chieng Jen, who finished second with 2,631 votes
  • Deputy communications minister Teo Nie Ching, who was third with 2,585 votes
  • Selangor executive councillor Ng Suee Lim (2,563)
  • Loke Siew Fook (2,508)
  • Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin (2,503)
