Partnership for a Sustainable Future: Panasonic and ERTH Join Forces for E-Waste Recycling Campaign

About the Campaign

PANASONIC Malaysia has partnered with e-waste recycling organisation ERTH for the Panasonic e-Waste Recycling campaign, aligning with Panasonic’s corporate vision “Create Today. Enrich Tomorrow” and its Panasonic Green Impact (PGI) goal, reinforcing the company’s commitment to societal well-being, economic growth, and responsible consumption within the electrical industry.

How to Participate

The campaign runs until June 30 in the Klang Valley. Customers can join by completing a simple form on Panasonic’s official campaign page, after which an ERTH Hero will arrange a convenient pick-up. Each collection box must contain at least three items. As a reward for responsible recycling, Panasonic Malaysia will offer participants a RM50 Club Panasonic e-voucher with a minimum spent of RM150.

The Importance of E-Waste Recycling

With rapid technological advancement, electronic devices quickly become obsolete, leading to an ever-growing e-waste problem. Malaysia generates over 364 kilotons of e-waste annually, and by 2025, the figure is projected to reach 24.5 million units, roughly the mass of 82 Twin Towers.

Consequences of Improper E-Waste Disposal

Improper e-waste disposal is a major issue, as much of it ends up in landfills or is discarded irresponsibly. When not handled correctly, harmful substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium seep into the soil, water, and air, posing serious health risks to both humans and wildlife while contributing to long-term environmental degradation.

Why E-Waste Recycling Matters

By collaborating with ERTH, we aim to create awareness and inspire action that will have lasting positive impacts on our communities and the planet. Together, we aim to educate the public on e-waste and inspire them to embrace recycling practices. Through this campaign, we hope to shift mindsets from a disregard for recycling to active participation in reducing the environmental footprint of e-waste and building a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
