PAS Youth Leader: Amanah’s Invite is a Desperate Attempt to Gain Members
PAS Members Won’t Join Amanah, Says Hafiz
Penang PAS Youth vice-chief Hafiz Alias Al-Baghoni has dismissed Amanah’s call for PAS members who are dissatisfied with the "culture of slander" practiced by some of the Islamic party’s leaders to join the party.
"Do they think PAS members are foolish enough to join Amanah?" Hafiz asked, referring to the fact that it was PAS members who had kicked out Amanah from the party in the past.
Hafiz’s statement comes in response to Penang Amanah Youth communications director Abrar Sadiq’s call for PAS members who are unhappy with the "culture of slander" to join Amanah.
PAS and Amanah’s Tumultuous History
The two parties have a history of disagreements, with Amanah members leaving PAS in 2015 after being at loggerheads with president Abdul Hadi Awang’s leadership.
Hafiz believes that Amanah’s invitation is a desperate attempt to gain more members, citing the party’s own history of being involved in defamation cases.
Pakatan Harapan Leaders Guilty of Defamation
Hafiz reminded Amanah that Pakatan Harapan leaders, including Mahfuz Omar, have also been found guilty of defamation. He cited the case between Mahfuz and Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor, in which Mahfuz was ordered to pay Sanusi RM250,000 in damages after making baseless claims about the latter’s personal use of a Vellfire.
Amanah’s Invite Falls Flat
Hafiz believes that Amanah’s invite is nothing more than a desperate attempt to gain more members, citing the party’s own history of being involved in defamation cases.
