The Perak State Health Director, YBhg. Dr. Feisul Idzwan bin Mustapha, has assured swift action regarding the case of Saraswathy A/P Subramaniam, a mother of three who is in critical condition at Taiping Hospital due to aggressive cancer.
In an official response to Dato’ G Kumaar Aamaan, Chief Editor of Ottrangknews, Dr. Feisul stated that he would discuss the matter with the clinical specialists responsible for the patient and provide updates to the family soon.
“We appreciate the attention given by the Perak Health Director to this issue and hope swift measures can be taken to transfer the patient to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, for further treatment by a team of oncology, thoracic surgery, and radiology specialists,” said Dato’ G Kumaar.
Saraswathy’s case has garnered widespread attention after it was revealed that a large tumor in her mediastinum had spread to her lungs, bones, and other organs. The tumor is also pressing on major blood vessels, posing a high risk of life-threatening thrombosis. The lack of specialists at Taiping Hospital has been a significant challenge in providing the urgent treatment required.
Dr. Feisul assured that this issue would be addressed promptly, and his team is committed to ensuring that Saraswathy receives the necessary treatment.
The patient’s husband, Satiya, expressed his gratitude for the health authorities’ attention and hoped that swift action would save his wife’s life.
This case has also sparked calls for authorities to address the shortage of medical specialists in rural hospitals to prevent difficulties in delivering critical care to patients.
